Preservative-free multi-use lubricant eye drops available in U.S.

I know many of us use artificial tears post cataract surgery. I've been using the preservative-free vials and just saw that Allergen Refresh Relieva PF, multi-use preservative-free eye drops, are now available in the U.S. Not sure about other countries. I was shopping this morning and didn't see them in my local stores yet, but I just ordered some off Amazon to try. Passing along the info in case anyone else is interested.

Preservatives in eye drops may cause irritation for some people. I use preservative-free to be extra cautious. 😃

multi-use generally have preservatives in them. mostly benzakonium chlroide (BAK) -- check spelling -- which can damage eyes.

Thanks. I am on Canada and have been using the Systane ones. Amazon is a great place to buy things you can't normally get access to. Meclizine is not sold in Canada anywhere so I order Bonine off Amazon. Helps when I cruise with seasickness.

thanks for sharing. i use the systane vials. but a lot of it is wasted. one vial really can be used maybe 6-8 times. plus i dont like creating all the plastic waste.

Lately I've been using TheraTears Eye Drops for Dry Eyes, it comes in a bottle but is preservative-free once a drop is in the eye. I get the best price on the bigger 1oz value size at amazon, cheaper than at local stores.

preservative -free eye drops were the ONLY thing that helped my cateract surgery. i was in pain when my eye burned at times and using anything else made them burn more. perservative free eye drops took the sting away-ALWAYS.

There is a reason that preservatives are used for multi use -- they are used over a period of time and need the preservative. Personally, unless you use the drops over a very brief time, I would stick to preservatives in a multiuse vial and non preservatives in single use. Think about what you are putting in eyes.
