Pressue in front of ear

I had my ear syringed last friday and i thought it was the build up of wax which was causing a pressure feeling in front of my ear. Like where the Jaw Joint is. But it's still there. When I yawn, i get a bit of pain there and i don't always feel the eustachian tube open on that side. I just want a bit of relief from it. Does anyone know what this could be? I don't want to waste the doctors time if it's not caused by my ear. Many thanks

Hey B17 - you didn't mention any tinnitus or hearing loss so I'm assuming you just might be dealing with a Eustachian Tube Dysfunction. The FDA just approved a procedure to clear the eustachian tube by doctors that are trained and skilled in the procedure. Basically they go through your nose and re-open the eustachia tube. The patient is under anesthesia and it's a fairly simple procedure.

That's only if your problem is diagnosed as that. You might want to get checked out. If you had hearing loss in the ear and tinnitus (T) you might also be describing Meniere's Disease and you didn't mention and dizziness or vertigo and I'm unqualified to diagnose you.

See what your doctor has to say and let us know. Good Luck!

I don't have hearing loss or tinnitus. The nurse did say my ear looked clear after she syringed it. Wonder if it could be an infection because i think you are prone to them once your ear is syringed. I'll see how it is tomorrow and make a decision about the docs.
