pressure and tension, anxiety related?

Hi, today I got alot of pressure in my temples, making me feel really down and tired, is this anxiety related? Or maybe dehydration. I know I definitely have anxiety (health anxiety) just hoping I'm not suffering with depression too.I really don't want to take medication as it doesn't solve the underlying problem plus I get bad side effects from them. I also have alot of tension inbetween my shoulder blades

Defiantly. I was having excruciating shoulder, neck and temple months before my anxiety  got my attention. When anxiety got so bad that I wasn't coping and went to the docs, I also mentioned the aches and pains(I wasn't worried about them, they where just hurting)and he said that it was anxiety related.

I do have depression but it was brought in as a result of my anxiety.

When I look back. I see signs that I should of took more notice of a long time ago but that's no good to me now.

If you think about it. We are constantly holding our shoulders in a brace position, ready for fight or flight so that's deformed going to create discomfort and as for the tension in our heads....we'll the amount our minds have to go through with anxiety,,,that's going to happen too xx

Gillian,  I also get the pains in my shoulders and neck,, were the pains you got at the side of your neck ?

Yes the right side and it felt a little swollen. My shoulder and right side of my back near that shoulder hurt really bad sometimes. I thought maybe it was fibromyalgia which is often very closely related with depression and anxiety.

Then I thought it was bad posture. Then I thought it was my bed lol

Now I just think it's stress xx

Lol sissy,  I'm the same, I don't like to take things. I don't take anything at the moment apart from the different vitamins but I have done in the past.

Trying my hardest not to this time, hopefully I won't but if I really need to then I will have to x

For me I also get that it's defo an anxiety symptom, my anxiety tends to be symptomatic differently each day, sometimes hot flushes, tension in the head and temples, burning arms and legs, horrible sinking feeling in stomach, tightness across the shoulders, disorientated thoughts, wobbly legs... Even sore flipping feet! The nicest one is a tingling sensation on my scalp which I actually like!!

Try meditation or hypnotherapy, breathing techniques can relieve the symptoms.

Cheers for the reply, my symptoms also change, as soon as I get used to one symptom and am able to handle it, then changes to a different symptom which I then have to get used to. I got my second appointment with a psychiatrist tomorrow

Working out helps, sometimes better than worrying about benign quasi problems..

Have tried that but then became Ill, whilst being ill I Havnt been able to do exercise which is annoying as it was helping

I dint exercise as in doing a workout but I do walk lots. In fact probably too much.

I try to look around me and focus on everything else..doesn't always work. Sometimes I'm walking round with my thoughts totally on myself and what's happening with me. Hoping that eventually my eyes will open and I see all the beauty around me xxx

Lately I walk with my dog who needs attention when she's near neighbors property. As I'm writing this she was quiet, a bad sign, since she is only 10 months old, and is  destroying my personal property if I'm not around. Yes she needs training, and I'm doing the best I can, which brings me to this thought, why not get a pet similar to my dog, this way your thoughts could be on maintaining your home, and pet, rather than think of all of your conceived problems.
