Pressure in head

I have had constant head pressure/headache now for 5 weeks. It started out as a tingling in my hand and face a heavy arm and resulted in a trip to a&e. Referral was made to tia clinic and a Stroke was ruled out and the specialist put it down to migrane. Various visits to the doctor as pressure is constant. Tried paracetamol, cocodamol and paracetamol nothing works. Had mri last tuesday so until results come back doctor wont give me anything. I've suffered with migranes for years so i don't think this is one. I'm fearing the worst as this is just relentless. I go to bed like this n wake up like this. I admit to being a bit of a worrier so maybe that's making it worse. Ive been on paroxetine in the past but ive not been on them for over a year now. At my wits end. The only time i don't feel anything is when I'm asleep 😔 I would rather stay asleep until this goes.

I've been having headaches for the last 7 weeks been to the doctors 6 times with no luck the pain starts off a a dull pain over my right eye and gradually gets that bad I have to take 2 paracetamol to ease it for 4hrs then it's back now the doctors have referred me 2 a nerolagist in 2 weeks time, I live in the U.K. So have to go along with what the NHS say just hope the can give me a ct scan. What the doctors did tell me is the longer the headache goes on for without and other bad things happening the less serious it is.

That might be the case but having a headache all the time like I did is pretty serious and ruins your life. Try and get a CT scan to look at sphenoid sinus issues. It's what I finally did after over a year and a half. Currently recovering from surgery.

I was told that also. If it was serious I'd have other symptoms. They said along with migranes its severe anxiety and depression which they won't confirm or give me any medication for untill i get my mri results. Don't really reassure you though does it.

I will try and this looked at but I'm losing hope with the doctors I just hope these paracetamol keep working or I will be in a bad way, I work fixing heavy construction equipment and every time I pull push lift it feels like my head will pop even when the paracetamol are working.

I've suffered with anxiety for the past 3 year but I feel I've pretty much got over that by myself as again doctors was not very helpful or understanding, the doctors have give me some beta blockers to try for migraine but after reading instructions I'm worried about taking them not to mention I don't think they will help me as like everyone says I think there's something blocked

Just remember no news is good news. I found cbt was good for my anxiety but I had to ask about it after seeing the works nurse after trying lots of different meds. I've just got my referral letter from nurolagist at Salford royal and by sound of it I won't be getting anywhere fast. Please let me know how you get on and I will likewise. good luck. X

Did you see an ENT and get a cat scan of your sinus cavity? Sphenoid sinusitis ruined my life for 3 years. Never in a million years would I have thought it was a sinus infection causing me all these problems.
I highly recommend it. Been on antibiotics for 5 days now and feel amazing. It's like night and day compared to how I felt before.

It's 5 days after surgery to open up my sphenoid sinus cavity, still feeling a lot of pain. Really hoping I see an improvement over next few days.

Well that's good news least it puts your mind at rest, that medication I've mixed reviews about but you need to give it a chance, I found cbt was good for my anxiety as taking tablets seemed to make me worse with worry about side effects. X

I've been using the steroid spray for 3 weeks now and my headaches don't seem as strong or as constant and I'm only needing 2 paracetamol once a day this last few days, a neurologist has reviewed my case on Monday and says a mri scan is the best course of action and has fast tracked me through to have it done next Sunday evening, I will update you further soon as I hear back, have you been back to the doctors and how are you now Helen.
