Pressure in one side of head

Hello Everyone
I have been going out of my mind with worry that i might have a brain tumour. Over the last couple of days i have had a pressure headache on the left side of my head. It seems to be worse when i lay on my left side and better when i lay on my right side. I can remember having this on and off in the exact same place on my head for at least 2 years, could that be a good sign?

I was in the same boat in February. I had a headache on the left side of my head above my eye for a month. My PCP did a sinus xray and it was clear. Then I did an MRI and that was clear. After a month it started to dissipate and has not come back. I saw a neurologist and he thought it was a cervicogenic headache, meaning to do with neck pain but I didn't really have neck pain. I'm still not sure what it was. I took extra strength tylenol and it would help for 4 hrs during that time of head pain for a month. The head pain also made my teeth and ear somewhat numb and radiated to the back of my head part of the time, but was not a tension headache according to the doc. I thought at the time I had a tumor but thankfully I do not. I begged my PCP to order the MRI to put my mind at ease. If I can give you any advice in which I'm definitely not a medical professional, I would talk to a neurologist who can order you some tests so you won't get anxious. I hope your pain goes away soon 😃

Hi Christina,
Headaches are so annoying and of course very painful too, and what you are describing sounds like a Cluster Headache, does your eye water on that side?
I agree with Stephihilani that you should get a referral to a Neurologist that specialises in headaches, with a view to getting an MRI scan done, this will I am sure put your mind at rest about cancer and any other nasty things.
When you see your Dr for the referral, you should ask about Sumatriptan, this has been my lifesaver over the years and I am sure it will help you too! It comes in tablets, injections and a simple nasal spray as well.
Good luck Christina and never forget we are here for support and if we can help that's great!
Take care and let us know how you get on please
