i have just noticed this spot on my bum cheek. I have just come off aunt flow and i shaved about a week and half ago. to me it looks like the other ones i have atm after shaving which i know are ingrown hairs as ive always got them when my hair starts growing back. But with everything going on in the world atm my anxiety is through the roof so anything that comes up on my body im panicking. this has only come up with a few on my vagina and this one on my butt cheek. My partner has never herpes (oral or genital) or slept with anyone who has but im still freaking out. Ive tried Reassuring myself that its just ingrown hairs as only appeared now my hair is growing back. Could people give me opinions if if looks like ingrown hairs? ive posted a picture before snd after i popped it as like i do with all my ingrown hairs

Talia, you do realize you should NOT ever pop ingrown hairs right? Risks could lead to infection or scarring. That just looks like a normal pimple or zit. I'd say its red color is due to maybe friction and it being irritated. Again, I'm not a medically professional.

ok thankyou. I'm going to ring the doctors to be on the safe side even though im pretty sure it is a ingrown hair. How do you get rid of ingrown hairs as i have been scarred in the past due to popping them.

Yes it could be an ingrown hair but it is definitely infected. Never burst these spots, you will keep spreading the infection under the skin. For a start is your razor clean? even if you are using an electric razor you should take the head out and wash in very hot soapy water to disinfect. Dont keep using an old hand razor as they get blunt quite quickly.

Make sure you are wet shaving as you will get a closer shave.

You need to pay more attention to these areas on your butt. Wash thoroughly and also use a soft brush to give the areas a light scrub. Dry thoroughly and use a moisturiser on the area each night., to loosen up the hardened skin cells. Try to do this every day.

i use had razor but i always use a new one each time? could maybe my Sanitary sanitary towel caused it to be come irritated. I am just getting over Folliculitis. if it is a ingrown hair what is the best way to get rid of them?

If you are using a new razor each time are you buying really cheap ones? Its better to invest in more expensive razors and use a few times . The cheap ones are often not so well made as the others and could cause very tiny scratches on your skin. were you given some medication for folliculitis?that should have given you some protection against these sort of spots.

My advice about washing, soft brushing and moisturising all help with ingrown hairs, but some people are very prone to them.

As long as your sanitary towel is changed frequently that shouldnt be an irritant.

I honestly don't feel this is something you should worry about.
