Prickly feeling.... Am I infected?? Mentally drained....

Hi!

I chanced upon this forum while googling intensively for information on similar symptoms that I'm having.

I received unprotected oral and protected vaginal sex with a partner on 15th & 28thNov 2016.

Started to have a mild and random prickly sensation on my genital, anus and butt crack area within the next 2 days I think. Went to see the doc on the third day to test for gonorrhoea and chlamydia which was negative. Was told by doctor that I gotta wait till the end of December to test for the rest of the stds. Meantime, Prickly feeling got worse for the next 3-4 days where i get it on my chest, back and armpits. However, there were no rashes, redness, blisters and ulcers anywhere. Went to the doc on 1st Dec 2016 again. Doc checked physically and don't see anything as well, assured me that it wasn't herpes and gave me some anti histamine. The prickly feeling got better but it's still there till now. I'm extremely worried and depressed. Anyone had similar symptoms?

Genital herpes does not cause upper body sensations, and any tingling, itching or prickly feelings would normally occur with a recurrence, not a first outbreak, so it doesn't sound like herpes.

You've done a great deal here FeliCatus, your post was very informative. Your reply lifted me up. But It's been abt 10 days of prickly itch. Feeling it more on the genital area and sometimes on my body. I try to take my mind off it but the prickly feeling constantly tries to remind me that it's there.

My weight dropped and my friend asked me why I looked haggard. i'm really at a lost now. I've never had this kind of prickly itch this long. That

Genital herpes really wouldn't cause the sensations you are experiencing on your upper body, because the infected nerves serve the boxer short region (or lower body at most).

Also, nerve sensations are usually associated with recurrences (and only in half of all people) when the virus makes its way out of the infected nerves to the surface. A first outbreak usually just occurs, as the virus hasn't gotten to the nerves yet.

First acute outbreaks are nearly always accompanied by lesions on the genitalia as well, which you would normally develop within the first week (up to 20 days for some people).

I therefore think it is unrelated, and hopefully this will serve to put your mind at ease. smile

I wished I can put my mind at ease but I'm still feeling the prickly sensation at the boxer shorts region. Every morning I wake up hoping that it'll go away, but it has been disappointments so far. It's very draining.

How long has it remained prickly feeling? Does the skin in your genital area appear irregular in any way? And have you considered just asking your partner? Anxiety can bring on many things, too. I once went through a very stressful period and broke out in a rash. Only happened the one time, and a long time ago now, but that was pretty freaky!

Since abt 10 days ago. There's absolutely nothing on the skin. Not even redness. I asked her. She said has itch and white discharge down there once in awhile but no irregularities on the skin. Her doc said that it was just maybe bacteria infection.

If you have never had cold sores before and this is herpes, then you would expect lesions or a skin irregularity of some kind. The average time is 5-6 days from exposure. Even if this is a herpetic prodrome you're feeling, prodromal symptoms usually turn into an outbreak within a couple of days. I would be very surprised if this is herpes.

I know that women are different, and that each person responds differently as well, but as an example, I developed first symptoms within one day. Started with burning urination, then I noticed a bump a couple of days later, which semi-ulcerated. Found at least two more lesions/ulcers hidden away a couple of days after that. No tingling or prickly sensations whatsoever the whole time.

Maybe you should get checked for scabies. it is passed easily thru sex and the itch is located in all the areas you mentioned.
