Has anyone with Primary Addisons came off Fludrocortisone completely without problems. I have been told  to come off them and I  am only on a quarter of a tablet. Now??

I was on Fludrocortisone for 1-1/2 years and have been off for about a month.  2 questions.  how long were you on it and at what dosage?  I was on 0.1 mg per day.

If you were on it a long time you want to get off slowly.  My Nephrologist told me to stop "Cold Turkey" and it was a disaster. Blood pressure spikes and drops, dizziness, etc.  For chronic users like me, you have to taper it off slowly. I did 0.05 tab morning and again in evening, then after two weeks started skipping the evening dose every other day, for a month. Monitored BP several times a day and night throughout. When that went well, started skipping the other, nightly dose. Kept monitoring BP throughout.  When that went well for a month, started skipping every other morning dose. When that went well, skipped other morning dose.  Now I'm totally off and feeling good too!  BP is also in low normal range.  No mor fludro side effects!  Good luck to you!
