Prince & Fentanyl

What does that have to do with hip replacement? Supposedly Prince had the surgery but it didn't totally relieve the pain.
Fentanyl is one of the 3 narcotics administered to my son as general anesthesia. The others were Dilaudid & Protocol. Note that last one was used by Michael Jackson.
What am I trying to say?
I wish I could have influenced my son to have spinal rather than general. I feel he would have had mental clarity sooner rather than just starting to gain some now. I asked both a nurse friend & a doctor if the affects of GA can last months. (Thank you Bini, too.)
YES, they can. Especially if your kidneys have been compromised. (Yes.)
My son will need RTHR, & I'll return to the MidWest from Hawaii in less than 2 weeks.
These powerful narcotics do NOT have the same effects on everyone. We waited over 4 hours for son to recover enough to be transported. We are still waiting for cognitive clarity to move forward.
Mahalo for reading. Please share if you are still recovering from the fog of general anesthesia for your THR.

I have no idea what narcotics were used but maybe could explain the lightheadedness and dizzy spells ??? I had GA for both THR surgeries -

I knew this from many years ago when I had a kidney stone.
Can still remember the young Dr saying to me that only a small number of patients have a bad reaction to Morphine, well I painted his lovely while coat with vomit, I react within seconds of being given morphine, or my stomach does.
Propofol - used as a very short term acting anstetetic, apparently when it wears off you are susposed to wake up very quickly. They used this on me to get started on my second THR, I was surprised, as I also had been hooked up to spinal and was dead from waist down.

So sorry so slow in replying.
Lovely image now in my mind:

They love to talk in generalities, don't they?
