Prisiq dosing and uses

Hello- I’m on day 4 of prisiq. I reallly like it so far but find that it wears off at night around 7pm.  I looked it up and the half life is only 11 hours. Has anyone takin 25mg twice a day and if so was this effective? Would that be the same as taking 1, 50mg tablet per day? Any advise would be greatly appreciatedsmile

    I am taking 25 mg twice a day since April but my dr changed me to lexapro recently as Pristiq only treats depression and did nothing to my anxiety .

      Have you tried the gene sight test? I finally did that and it’s crazy it breKs down what meds you body can metabolize and which ones you can’t. Prisiq was my top drug and o feel insanely different from the Zoloft I was on.

      I did it in HK. You can google Prenetics. I think is the same thing . According to the report, I am ok to take lexapro that’s why the dr put me on that and I am on it for almost 10 days. Pristiq is actually a newer version of Effexor which my first psychaitrist overlooked at it that’s why Pristiq didn’t work for me. I am now weaning off Pristiq. I used to take 100, then 50, the split the 50 to 25 and take 12.5 mg at 12pm then 12.5mg at 4pm.  Do you have anxiety or panic disorder or just depression ?

      I have all of the above. I need snri thoygh ssri don’t work for me. I was on Effexor XR for years with great success, then it stopped working so they put me on Zoloft. That def didn’t work so I’m weaning off Zoloft and am on 50 mg of prisiq once a day. So we will see how it goes. As of now o feel a million times better than I did a week ago. I was so damn depressed I couldn’t get off the couch and I was so anxious I was have panic attackers if I did anything.

    i am on pristiq 50mgs for 21 days did it help your anxiety?

    pristiq is only used to treat depression. i was on that for 3 months and my doctor switched me on lexapro since AUG 27. i am feeling all good now with no anxiety amd also tapering off my benzos slowly. do you gave anxiety ? if yes then pristiq is not the right meds for you.

      i guess different people reacts differently but what my dr told me is that pristiq is for depression only . lexapro is for anxiety and depression. You can goggle that or ask your dr. good luck with Pristiq
