    Hi Sarah,

I took pristiq for several months with lorazepam. The two work very well together. I now take Effexor which is the less pure form of pristiq. The lexotanil is a benzodiazepine, which is a short acting medication for anxiety. I find if I take them throughout the day, it helps keep panic attacks away. Or they can be used on an as needed basis. Just if the anxiety breaks through the regular meds. I hope this helps.

I have taken a different benzodiazepine called Ativan and another called Xanax . They just calm me down and relieve the anxiety. I don't feel high or anything. Just calm. The pristiq should keep you calm as well, but it won't kick in for a while. Have someone keep tabs on your moods along with you to be sure you aren't reacting negatively to the meds. That's not meant to scare you. You want to feel like yourself minus the anxiety.
