Private blood tests / screening

GPs will do some private tests.

If you are after a 'Well Man' type assessment, why don't you go to your own Surgery?  These Private Clinics don't get a particularly good write up from the point of view of the Body Scans or whatever else they offer.  

Pharmacies offer Cholesterol tests and will check your blood pressure but your GP's surgery is a good bet.

NHS GPs don't offer a suite of tests and they are not competively priced in my experience, and electronic results... no chance.

I haven't seen a pharmacy offering lab based testing, they are mostly screening using kits which I can buy and do myself anyway.

I found a couple of private GPs who offer more consumer focused services, but they are few and far between. I might have to resort to Bupa or Nuffield but I will end up paying for a lot of stuff I don't want.

I know such service are more accesible in the States. Maybe I can tie in with a holiday if their are services avaiable in Europe?

My ideal would be walk in to Boots (as an example), hand my blood over the counter and the results arive within say 72 hours electronically. No non-sense , no fuss.

I was in the same boat, but once I saw a full medical checkup costs nearly £2000 on bupa........ I thought, no chance.

My previous post is pending moderation, but Harley Street do blood tests starting at £100. I think there is a more extensive set for £170.
