Probably Bartholin's Cyst

Hello, I wanted to be sure before I go to a gynecologist since my family use company's medical card to pay medical bills. I had this lump on the right labia minora since I was 15. At that time it was not painful, just a hard swell on one side . And yes, my right labia minora is larger that the left. Now, I am 25, I started to feel minor pain sometimes. The swelling is noticeably larger. I read that some ladies burst them and saw puss/blood coming out. But I am scared to do it because 1) I am not sure, and 2) I have psoriasis, a little wound would lead to larger skin problem. So, I want to confirm if it is indeed Bartholin's Cyst and whether if I can leave it alone?

    Hi,

According to me u should consult a gynecologist. I had the Bartholin's cyst from childhood. It never bothered me. After my marriage and delivery of my baby my left labia became so swollen. But it didn't created any pain or infection. After having long sitting, it became more swollen and ended up to consult my OBGYN. He confirmed it as cyst and I had my surgery last week. I feel so better now. My cyst was a lengthy one and hence my wounds are so deep. Rather than ending up in infected Bartholin's cyst and pain its better to c a doctor.

    Thanks

Hi, they bursted a week ago, and now seemed to be ok and no infections too. If they appear again this year, I would go to see Obgyn. Glad to know that I am not the only one to have these since childhood.
