Probably having a severe first outbreak

After scouring the internet I'm convinced that I have herpes. I just need advice on what I can do to stop it from spreading. My sores are leaking so much that the 3 areas I started with have turned into a full scale outbreak.

Every time I check I find more bumps and the ulcerations are just getting bigger. I'm trying to keep the area clean and dry but it's damn near impossible because of the drainage I'm experiencing. I also feel like my efforts to keep it clean is helping it to spread.

I can't get to a doctor until Monday to find out for sure, but from what I've read and what I've been going through I already accepted that I have the virus

Hey, have you tried salt water baths? They really help personally, and also I have read that using a hair dryer instead of a towel to dry is better

Yes I've been doing the sitz baths and it helps with the pain, but it causes more drainage. I've tried the hair dryer thing that's not working. I don't understand why my body is producing so much discharge.

Unfortunately I think its just luck of the draw, but if its any consolation the first outbreak is usually the worse so future recurrent outbreaks are unlikely to cause you as much pain (and hopefully less discharge). Fingers crossed your doctor can advise you on what to do, sorry I've not been much help!

post pics of the scaly sores

They aren't scaly. I'd take scaly because everything would stop leaking. It's a couple of cuts, a few blisters, several ulcerations , and bump clusters. It's a truly disgusting sight which is why I didn't post a picture .

Going through the same exact thing. wont get my results until monday but I've accepted I have it also...everything points to herpes. it hurts to walk. to pee...I've never experienced anything like this. I'm here for you. I keep putting gauze over mine with bandaids...it helps soak up the oozing, but i hate keeping it covered because I want it to breath and dry out, but if I dont keep it covered the pain is horrible

I might just have to try to bandage myself up because I'm failing at keeping it dry. At least they way I can maybe stop the spreading. The difference from Sunday to today is insane. I basically went from thinking I had the worst friction cuts ever to my looking like an oozing infected octopus tentacle. At least it doesn't itch. I doubt I could handle itching along with all this pain.

omg yes!!! feels nice to have someone to relate to. someone told me bandaids make it spread but I use the gauze the bandaids just hold it in place, the area where mine s**t itll rub raw if I dont keep it covered 😦 I thought mine was friction from dry sex but now I have sores. Even though I already know the results I'm feel sick about actually reading them

It just sucks. I throw caution into the wind one weekend and this is what happens. My partner doesn't think he has it, but I legit had flu like symptoms two days after we had unprotected sex for the first time. He's fine, but I'm over here feeling like I'm dying a slow death.

I definitely have some wicked friction cuts. In fact that's what's causing my discomfort. The sores/ blisters only hurt when I touch them, but the cuts are so wide I don't know how they are supposed to heal. The cuts are causing my discharge issues.

keep me posted! part of me still hopes the results will be neg...I made my partner aware and I truly hope hes in the clear, because I'd rather deal with this alone than involve someone else. hes not experiencing anything, only me and yes. it feels like a slow death 😦 I wish you the best of luck ❤

Bump. Does anyone know how to stop this from spreading? I just keep getting more bump clusters. They have spread to my buttocks now. I've been calm about this until now but I think I might lose it if another cluster appears.

My ulcerations just won't crust over. It's been a week since I started showing symptoms.

Hi lovely, my first outbreak was exactly like this too. please rest assured that it is highly unlikely you will ever have it this bad again!

the only things that help me to dry up and prevent spreading are -

herpes anti viral medication (aciclovor) if you take this as soon as you get symptoms it stops the sores from spreading

tea tree oil - mix a few drops of tea tree oil into a small bowl of water and use cotton wool to soak the sores, the tea tree will act as an antiseptic that drys up the sores

the rest of the time i just sit in front of a fan with my legs in the air waiting for the hell to end!

good luck and try to remember the pain wont last forever! x

Update: So my doctor is pretty sure it's herpes. I'm having complications unfortunately because of other health issues. I've been put on a large dose of antivirals and a lot of antibiotics. I'm still waiting on my bloodwork and swabs.
