Probiotic vaginal suppositories

I've been dealing with bacterial vaginosis for a month now. First took metronidazole 500mg 3x a day. Went back when it didn't clear up doctor said to wait 2 more weeks since there seemed to be some improvement. She did perscribe MacroBid for a uti then. I didn't make it the full 2 weeks before I was back because symptoms had worsened. So now I'm on my second round Metronidazole this time it's 500mg 2x a day. I've been thinking about using probiotic vaginal suppositories I bought the vagibiom brand and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with this. Also are there any side effects or risks to using them?
