Problem kidney stone

Hi IV recently been in hospital with renal colic but have not passed the stone yet it appears that it's stuck in the lower part of the ureta. I'm back at home now with medication. Has anyone else had this problem if so what was the outcome. I'm hoping it's going to pass on its own but no signs as yet . Welcome any suggestions .

It's best if you can pass it because there's no drugs or intervention to be taken.
You can take painkillers as appropriate. If you need strong ones, you can get them on prescription.
If it gets too bad, seek further help.
Good luck.

Yes it certainly was agony and the voltrol suppository did help. Can I ask did having a stent cause you pain because they wanted me to have a stent but I refused due to the pain it caused me last time (several years ago) at the moment I'm pain free but as far as I know the stone is still there so really hoping I pass it soon or I may have to have the stent.

Yes I can tell you my experience. I had to have two stents: one either side as both my kidneys were making multiple stones!! They discovered this was probably to do with a faulty parathyroid gland in my neck; so I had that removed in a separate op. This lowered my calcium levels back to normal so hopefully has resolved the situation.
The stents were necessary both before and after my surgeries. Having them in was only mild discomfort daily; the only problem was going for a wee - then I was actually hitting the ceiling each time I went; trying to wee slowly helped?!. Some meds do help with this; but I couldn't wait to have them out. Some people however seem to have no pain; so I don't want to worry you too much. I would certainly do it again if I had to (hoping not!) but I would definitely need Voltarol!
Good luck.
Angie.

The stents I have had removed varied greatly. One doc wasn't as good as the other. It doesn't hurt too bad; I couldn't even feel him going in to retrieve it; the good doc simply told me to "cough now" and the act of coughing must relax the tube or valve enough for him to remove it swiftly in one strong tug. The other doc who didn't tell me to cough did hurt me; but literally the pain is so quick it's over before you even realise you are hurting !! It's so quick! My advice would be to ask the doc to tell you to cough when he is about to pull. Then you will be absolutely fine!!You won't even feel a thing. Yes I did get my pains in the car afterwards on the way home. If you can take it; I strongly recommend Voltarol suppository after to stop the spasms. This is advice I wish I had had before my experience! You will be fine! 😃
Good luck and best wishes
Angie
