Problem with intermittent self catheterisation

Hi all, I'm new here and looking for some advise..

background - 49 male Spina Bifida neurogenic bladder augmentation cystoplasty in 1995 , ISC since with recurring UTI's at least 6 per year. normal go referal with oral antibiotics. never seen to clear up properly.

Dec 2020 started to leak urine despite ISC

contracted UTI with usual symtoms, fever cloudy smelly urine, nausea, severe lower right flank pain radiating to lower back (pain 8 out of 10) hospitalised and treated with iv antibiotics and fluids. Discharged after 5 days .. two weeks later hospitalised again with exact same symtoms for 6 days .. discharged still in pain and with 1 day course of co trimoxozole was fine for a week. now hospitalised third time same symtoms .. same treatment plan .. 8 days inpatient

my issue is with my isc in november i noticed that despite isc i was leaking this should not be possible as during my op they wrapped my urethrea (cant remember wording) which meant i have to insert cathater to void after that it wasnt possible to void .

so recently im leaking all the time. standing up sitting down im wet, last couple nights in hospital i woke to find bed swimming with urine, i always isc before bed and dont understand why this is happening and its quite scary.... had a us of bladder and thry said there is a thickening of my bladder wall awaiting cystoscopy as out patient .. why they cant do it now as im sat in hospital is beyond me but covid etc

has this happened to anyone else ?

any thoughts or suggestions ?

thanks for taking time to read this

Do you have any problems or difficulty with catherization ? Pain ? Bleeding ? What brand/type of catheters do you use ? Hank
