Problem with sore and itching eye 6 months after shingles

Can anyone help? I had shingles which was in my eye, forehead and head, I had PHN which meant that for the last few months I have suffered with a lot of discomfort in my right eye, itching every day, and it gets very sore, The itching is also on my eyebrow , as the shingles was from my eye to my head, Although my vision has not been affected, I am worried that if these problems carry on much longer, that the risk to my vision might get worse, has anyone experienced this? I am due to attend the eye clinic in a few weeks, and have been going regularly ever since I was diagnosed. it is all getting very depressing now!

    I have identical PHN - 14 months now.  No two cases are the same, of course, but my opthamologist told me vision loss or damage can result but is not common. For what it's worth:  I had the equivalent of 11 hours of acupuncture - no results. Lyrica helped somewhat but monthly cost prohibative (there are no generics).  Good luck at eye clinic.  .
