Problems after a Total Hip Replacement

Posted , 7 users are following.

Thank You for accepting me into your group, I have a problem post replacement, & wanted to know if anyone else has had the same or similar. it happened early Oct. four months after my T.H.R. I have been back to/fobbed off by my original surgeon for six months + now and really getting depressed, when I move in curtain ways, (almost always now), something moves in my thigh, it renders me immobile, so much so I have to practically drag my leg to the nearest chair; where once seated it goes back where is is supposed to be and pain all but goes away. I have had Xrays three times, an E.U.A and now up for my 2nd scan... ANY Replies would be greatly appreciated.

What a horrible situation for you. I looked at your profile to find out which county you live in but you have not included any details.

If you lived in the UK I would suggest that you discuss this with your doctor with a view,to seeing a different surgeon.

    Keep pushing for a result!

    Good luck Richard

    dear Pambev,

warm welcome to the hippies forum ..

I am so sorry to hear about your problem and the way it is treated --- It does not sound normal to me and I agree with Richard to look for another, 2nd, opinion - Is that an option?

Would you mind sharing a little bit more about your self?

     big warm hug

Oh my goodness, you poor thing! If I were you I would ask to see a different surgeon and get a second opinion. If you feel something is moving out of place then there is something wrong. I sounds to me like you need to have an MRI which would give a more detailed look at your hip. Please don't leave it to chance, go and get it check with someone else. Good luck Suzie58

I'm only 4 weeks post op, so not terribly experienced. However, i would certainly seek a second opinion.

Hi sorry to hear of your problems. Have a look at pronating hip. not at home at moment so cant check on spelling. Its when the ball slips out of the cup then goes back again.. it happened to me , I told my physio amd surgeon thats what it felt like but they thought it was tendons and discounted it. I've had lots of problems but look it up and be careful. Good luck Patsy X
