Problems after eye cataract surgery

Posted , 2 users are following.

I had one eye done 12 weeks and the second one 7  weeks ago. Can see fine and checkup says all is OK  BUT both my eyes feel completely swollen (they do not look it from the outside)   It seems to be getting worse and is really depressing. Any one else had this?

I had a similar problem and occasionally still do.  Mine feel more like a pressure of some kind.  I think it's due to a mild case of dry eye, which I understand can be a side effect.  For several months after surgery, I used moisturizing drops pretty regularly, but eventually the condition subsided.  Now I use them only occasionally.  The brand Systane seems to work the best.

Thank you so much - I do have some drops but not Systane.  Will try and get some and use them regularly to see if it helps.

You're welcome.  Don't get discouraged.  My condition took months to subside.  I suggest you use the eye drops as often as needed and maybe more so.  I used them even if I wasn't noticing the "pressure" so much.  I put them in every night just before bed, as well.  I did this to prevent drying while sleeping.  Systane makes a preservative free version, but I find the regular lubricant drops work best and the bottle lasts longer.  Good luck.

By the way, I did some research into eye drops and Systane consistently came in as one of the best.
