Problems at night with eyes?

Do your eyes bother you at night when you are trying to sleep?  Mine do so well during the day, but at night they swell and feel so dry. Anyone else have this problem?  Thanks,  Dena  smile

Dry Eye Syndrome is well known.  Have you had your eyes tested recently?  If not, you ought to.

You can buy ocular lubricants over the counter.  They are known as 'Artificial Tears'.

Those that cause fewest problems, are preservative free, such as Liquifilm and Lacrilube.  I currently use Hyabak and VitA-POS.  I use the gel one at night because it makes my eyes slightly blurry.

Ask the advice of a Pharmacist and don't be taken in by someone who wants to sell you an expensive branded product, the generic ones are just as good.

But, do have your eyes tested, to check that there isn't anything else going on.

    hi dena

Bleth is a cruel eye disease. had it for 4 years. been off steriods now for 2 years. had to put the steroids in my eyes morning and night. There is a long story to my horrid journey of bleth. but wont go into that at mo. i found bletha clean wipes in boots and it was a miracle.they cleared my bleth but only recently had the same prob as you only getting bleth when i sleep and ok in the day. conjuntavitis goes hand in hand with bleth and this might be the start of loosing control again. try bletha clean wipes if they work you can get them on prescription cause they are £10 a box for 20 wipes. cut the wipes in half. you dont need to use one wipe on one eye cause they are big enough to cut in half. debbie.

This night time irritation only happens to me if I go to bed without first applying tear gel.

Over here in the UK our family doctors would all prescribe a gel , not a liquid , called lacrilube . only a gel will last through the night .

Most of you know I have Blepharatis.  What a pain. I'm using the wet ones, and it helps, just the problem at night mostly.  It's seems here in the US we are very limited as to what can help.  My eye doctor is not one to brag about.  He is not helpful.  If this doesn't clear up soon I will be going to am eyeclinic.  My primary doctor refered me to one. Where is that light at the end of the tunnel?  Please, don't tell me it's yeat another train.  smile

Hi , I read on a different site that some people think they have blepharitis but have symptoms like you and it is actually an allergic reaction to bedding - it can be from the mites in bedding/dust mites or a feather allergy if bedding has feathers.  It may not be the case for you but worth knowing! :-)
