Hi

Just wondering if anyone else has problems driving. I had to drive to the hospital yesterday for a heart scan. On the way home I went really hot and keep getting shooting pain in the top of my left foot. Then a pins and needles feeling at the bottom of my foot. Today all the back of my leg is aching alot. Just wondered if anyone has any problems.

My immediate thought is that you shouldn't be driving if you need a heart scan for whatever reason. I hope you at least had someone in the car with you?

I've had problems with blood pressure and pulse rate for years. A heart scan was just to rule any problems out... driving Is not an issue and I have never been told I would be unable to drive. Yes I did have someone else in the car and my heart scan results came back fine so no problems there anyway.

There are times when I feel I would not want to be behind a wheel.  My hubby now drives if we are in the car together in order to save my energy.  I haven't had the pains in my legs / feet but I have struggled to keep focused sometimes because of the mental energy required to drive.

I too have not been recommended to stop driving by any professionals and my heart beat is being silly.  However that is when I am stressed or moving around.

Probably something to kkep watching and avoid driving when you can if nothing else to save energy.

    Hello Gemma,

I have not been diagnosed with chronic fatigue but with post viral symptoms which to me is bordering onto cfs /me apparently if I do not get it under control. I have been like this for two months now.

In the last month everyday I experience pins and needles in leg and hands. More so in legs and hot and cold flushes in my left leg. Which lasts for 30 seconds or so and then disappear. The tingling is all the time. I am working full time so sometimes I do not notice it but when I am quiet I do 😒

My head is always heavy and it's like I am generally malaise. Under MRI I am all okay

Docs gave me lyrica but I took some and it does not work. Also gave me bad side effects like

    Palpitations

Have you had a brain scan/spine scan.

      Hello Elle

I've only had these symptoms for 11 weeks following a bad case of tonsilitis. I get bad headaches, weak and achy all the time, dizziness, sometimes feeling faint and I've recently been getting pins and needles in my hands and feet too. I've had blood tests for literally everything and just had my heart scan. I really don't know what will happen next. No I've not had a brain scan have you?

In my experience, "post-viral syndrome" is the same as ME/CFS.  My specialist has used the names interchangeably. The symptoms are the same. Several years into this illness, and I started getting pins and needles sensations in my feet and legs, and sometimes in my arms.

Surprised you haven't had a brain scan cos I thought they needed to do that to rule out MS as your condition?  I know I've had one but I did have a head injury when I was in my late teens so they were checking damage then hadn't caused the present symptoms.

Maybe worth asking your doctor if they think it would be worth having an MRI?

I know julie I've had blood tests and heart scan. I'm waiting on the scan results to take any further action. I was actually goin to ask for an mri scan but would it really show anything?

M.S. is shown on the scan and it could also rule out any other possible reasons why the brain is misbehaving.  Worth asking the doctor their opinion as they know in detail your symptoms.

If you do have an MRI, take loud music.  Mine was too quiet at times to hear over the machine.  At least the Brain MRI is only 15mins.  My Spine one was 1.5hr.  Absolute agony keeping still that long, was crying towards the end.

Just wanted to give you my experience with an MRI, in case you decide to get one. I've had several MRI's and it was no big deal for me. The noise of the machine was a bit annoying, and having to stay in one position was a bit annoying, but nothing more. I just wanted to give you anothe point of view--not to negate anyone else's experience.

Okay then thankyou Jackie, what did your results show if you don't mind me asking? Would it be a brain mri or just a general one? I'm not sure what to ask for.

Nothing wrong on my MRI scan. You need to ask a specialist familiar with ME/CFS if you even need a scan. A knowledgeable professional can listen to your symptoms and tell you if a scan is desirable, and if it is, whether to get an MRI or a CAT scan. I opt for the MRI whenever possible, to avoid the radiation of a CAT scan. Of course, if it will set your mind at ease, you may want to just go ahead and get a scan. Again, you would need a brain scan, not a general scan, as far as I know.

I have Fibromyalgia as well hence why I found it so painful.  The ME/CFS likes me to rest, The Fibro likes me keep moving.  Lucky me
