are you on 100mg did yoou say?
im on 50mg sertraline and im not sleeping, so im on sleeping pills as well. so arent 100mg helping at all to help you sleep.
when i first went on sertraline a coouple of years ago i slept ok, for me ive got a lot of other stress thats why i dont sleep

After 3-4 weeks I was sleeping very well, but once I am awake I can't dose off again which means I just go to bed at a reasonable time and get a good 7-8 hours comfortably. I found sleep to be great after initial side effects on both 50mg and 100mg. I take mine in the morning.

Hi
Thats completely understandable that you feel worse, so did I, your trying to overcome something and then your getting no sleep which is the worst.
It does improve honestly, I was literally sleeping about 1 hour a night if that, I just couldn't nod off at all and that lasted about a month
I found and was advised if you can't sleep, don't just lay in bed or else the self pity and depression etc will just get worse
Imagine someone who is completely normal/happy but they have to be up super early and it is imperative they get a good nights sleep for work, 9 times out of 10 that person will have a rubbish sleep, why? because they are wanting to sleep and needing to sleep far too much
I used to go to bed and I would think, if I don't sleep it doesn't matter, if I only have a little sleep who cares, I will fall asleep one day it doesn't matter when, immediately that relieves pressure!
You will get there, trust me and don't but pressure on yourself!

Hi Cheryl
Bearing in mind I wasn't sleeping at all, probably for about a month I had virtually any proper sleep, I am about 12-14 weeks in to Sertraline and I am sleeping like a baby, no problem whatsoever
But I do believe what helps me is my understanding and approach has changed massively, the drugs alone might not give you the best sleeps you possibly once had
