Problems with supply????

Posted , 4 users are following.

I tried to get my prescription done tonight at our local chemist to be told that there are supply problems generally :o with orlistat and that I should try other chemists. I went to the next and was told the same story. Has anyone else experienced supply problems? I did do a search on the internet and came across a story about problems associated with the value of the pound and speculators buying up stocks to sell on. I will try other chemists tomorrow.

    Hi Andy,

I went to tescos last week to get my prescription and they had none, and that there was a supply issue - told me to try other chemists as they might have old stock -I went to Boots and got them there.

    Good luck in finding them.

I went to the chemist a couple of weeks ago and they could only part fill my prescription but they did manage to get more in a couple of days.

I guess now the tabs are available retail it could get a bit trickier.

I don't see stocks getting that short. They will have to make more - after all we are all being told to lose weight so they have a captive customer base!

I tried to get my prescription at Lloyds, but they were out of it and said there were supply issues, but I was able to get it at Tesco. If you still haven't got your tabs, why not try ringing some local pharmacies, and if you find one with it in stock, ask them to hold some for you - that's what I did.

After trying a few local chemists with the same results - none in stock, I ordered them on the internet from Boots - they say I should have them by Thursday (delayed due to the Bank Hols). I will probably just manage til then with what I have had left over from previous months. Fingers crossed Boots don't run out!
