Problems with therapy

Hi
I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problems as me with counciling/therapy. I was referd because of anxiety problems. I was really geared up for the first appointment which went quite well. It took the whole hour to explain the problems I had. When I left I was really positive and was looking forward to the next session because It went so well. When I went to the next one I had a different person and she didnt have a clue about my situation. No notes were given to her so I had to do it all over again, which again took the whole hour. Session 3 was the same, another person and no notes.

Another thought - there are many organisations which offer therapy/counselling to people who don't earn much money. I gather you do work, but it's possible that you will meet the thresholds of some of these organisations - you may not get free therapy but you will get a very reduced rate - and you'll see the same person each time. Sorry, I should have said all this before!!! I'm doing night shifts at the moment so my brain isn't working at top notch (if it ever did.)
Two friends of mine, one working, the other on benefits, took advantage of some of these schemes.
You'll have to do a bit of googling but DON'T GIVE UP, TWPY|!!!
And stay with us - please keep posting so that we can support you. xxxxxx

Going private for a while is actually a very different experience, its worlds apart from NHS treatment - they actually listen to you and dont clock watch constantly! A good place to look is if you google for Bupa Finder - this helps you find private therapists who are Bupa registered. These people often hold private clinics. The one i saw was £55 an hour - which seems a typical rate - its a lot of money and does add up, but sometimes for the short term its a great way to go.
Incidentally my previous comment telling you to stop feeling sorry for yourself was in no way a criticism, i know from my own experience i needed someone to tell me that to make me think that yes i need to stop thinking along the lines of "noone will help me" - because there is help out there, its just not always as available as we would hope. No offence was meant.
