I have had this problem since my late teens or early 20's. As I get older (now 56) this pain is coming much more frequently.
The pain generally comes when I am sitting or in bed, which is fortunate since the pain is so severe it is very difficult to do anything until the pain subsides. Each episode lasts 5 minutes or so (never actually timed them)
Since my early 20's I have brought this up to my Dr. and have been fully dismissed. Over the alst 10 years or so I never bother mentioning it when I change Dr's because I have not expected an identification.
While watching the Dr. Oz show on TV this morning this was brought up during a question period. This was the first time I heard of others having this and an identifying name for it. I now am able to do research on the internet and decide on further action.

For your info, this pain you are talking about is (surprisingly you will say) very easy it fix! It's all about lack of diatery fibers!!! So when you feel it coming, go grab in your kitchen a bowl of high fiber cereals with milk (Ex.: All Bran Flakes) and just eat this fast and in about 3 minutes problem solved for rest of the night.
And how I know you will say? Cause I am a "problem solver" and when I have a problem, any problem in life, I will find a solution, just like when I have calf cramps, I eat a banana cause I know its my lack of potassium the issue and cramp goes away in minutes.

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if your could help or advise me on what I can do. I'm 26 years old I'm a mum of 2 little ones 4 and 5.
I first suffered this excruciating pain when I was about 12 or 13. First time I had it I had my friend round and all of a sudden I went to get off the chair and it literally felt like Freddie crugar's hand went up my anal area and into the lower part of my stomach. (gods honest truth it felt like a fish hook about to pull all my intestings out if I was to get off this chair. So I was sitting there balling my eyes out my mum had to take my friend home whilst I had a wheat bag on me to see if that would stop it. My mum took me to the doctor when it first happened and they said it was constipation or ibs because I do suffer with my bowels and going to the toilet. We also went back about a year later when after I had had one of these episodes 2 or 3 days later I would go to the toilet and literally a pool of blood came out of me (no not my period) it was coming from my anal area. But it looked like my monthly that is how much blood there was in my stolls and the water.
When I got into my later teens after getting no where with the doctors I decided to try and deal with bear with it and just carry on. Then after having kids I was back and forth to the doctors again because it became more regular, and the last thing I wanted was something happening to me as a mummy and a partner.
Let's just say the exact pain of the fish hook, pure agony, can't move, balling my eyes out also the amount of not normal blood is what I have been experiencing ever since the first time I had the pain including now when I have had it in the recent year there have been times I have been shopping with my partner and little ones and I felt like I wanted to pass out I have come over all funny with the pain.
Only last year the doctor decided that he was going to send me to a colonic consultant where I had a colonic study and a colonoscapy where in that it showed no bowel cancer, piles (in or out) no ulcers, no damage apart from still slight blockage and a dried up blood clot sack. but the consultant said there is nothing there to raise concern and just like that dropped me like a sack of potato's even though he said to both me and my mum that he would rule out cancer by doing these test and carry on till we get to the bottom of what is going on.
So now back to square one and only Friday night I was on the toilet (2) and I could feel the pain gain but it came so quickly that my body shut down, I was stuck on the toilet for 45 mins my partner ended up calling my mum over and calling 111 who was getting an ambulance out. I had my little girl upstairs scared that there was something wrong with me bless her so I had to try and cry in silent and grab anything I could to not scare her any more.
Today 2 days later I felt really lathargic had no energy tierd (not like me unless had lack of sleep) needed the toilet and there it was again the blood pool.
On Friday my fiance was putting my symptoms in etc on google and. Came across this page reading out post done by yourselves and me and my mum was slowly but surley agreeing with him that this is what I have and was going through.
I was wondering how do I get tested or how do I go about talking to the doctors about this please.
I'm already on zapain, backlophen and diclophen for my back so it helped get my stomach get out of a spazem or something enough to get from the loo to the sofa.
But should I really be living my life like this any more.
Please help 😦

Relaxation of inner anal sphincter - digital self massage and/or use of vibrator (turned off) to stretch and dilate sphincter
intentionally relax and avoid straining/pushing
After 30yrs - it is the only thing that has ever worked - and has been near miraculous
Despite awkwardness/embarrassment of administering this intervention to yourself it is effective and free

I have been able to 100% eliminate this pain by recognising it as a food sensitivity. The food that triggers the pain for me is corn in all it's forms. It can take up to three days after ingesting corn for the pain to appear.
My experience of the pain seems to be the same as the most typical descriptions. It comes on often at night or at times of exercise or stress. It starts off slowly and crescendos to a severe spasm for several minutes then fades away. I wonder if it has some similarity to FODMAP sensitivities as those symptoms can also take up to three days to appear
Corn is present in so many foods that most people wouldn't be aware that they've ingested it. Think everything that is pre-prepared, processed, thickened, or sweetened. Think of tinned soups, some alcohols, mixed icing sugar, breads, etc.
I hope this is helpful as I know how distressing this pain is.
