Progesterone

I have very low levels of progesterone. But I might be estrogen dominant.

I heard that progesterone supplementation often gets converted to estrogen. And I don’t want that to happen. Any insight?

Hi Missy,  you may want to confirm that info with your doc.  Progesterone rapidly declines in peri. Leaving some of us us estrogen dominant because there is not enough progesterone to keep balance.  To my knowledge, raising progesterone levels evens out your estrogen.  Not raises it.

Unfortunately we did a lot of research on this and bio identical progesterone gets converted to estrogen. You can google it. It’s a long story to put on here.

From what I read it only converts to estrogen if your body needs it. Since I've been using progesterone cream it's helped with the constant spotting I was having, I no longer get that, and it's also helped with other things like the fibro cysts in my breasts that were completely out of control!
