Prolapse

I think I am even more confused as to what is prolapse. I had this telephone conversation with a Gyni who, in writing to myself and my doctor said I was booked for pelvic floor repair, vaginal hysterectomy, removal of both ovaries and tubes/sacrospinous fixation. This sound too awful and truly I would prefer a pessary. I am just hoping this turn out to be a straight forward uterine prolapse. why is it that women have to go through these horrible things which make me very miserable. Thats a rhetorical question of course.

It was suggested to me too that I should have my ovaries removed during hysterectomy, but my doctor refused to consider it. The surgeon, apparently, thought it would avoid my getting cancer of the ovaries in the future, which is why he suggested it.

In the end I just had the hysterectomy, and all has been well.

I really don't see why you should have your ovaries removed - just talk to your doctor about it, and I hope he'll be able to put your mind at ease.

Not sure why my previous messages have been removed? They were intended to be helpful to the original poster. and contained a useful video endorsed by many people. Any clues? I would appreciate an honest answer.

Hi Bianca, I am in a different boat, I had all but one ovary removed long ago, now with menopause I have bladder prolapse, waiting for consult & surgery...You don't say how old you are but, your Dr did tell you; removing both ovaries will put you into surgical menopause?? You will no longer be producing female hormones...depending on your age you may want to discuss hormone replacement(or at least a plan to deal with your symptoms), to taper so you have more subtle & gradual onset of menopausal symptoms...if you have questions or concerns about ANYTHING related to the procedure, surgery, anaesthetic, recovery or after care...PLEASE don't be afraid to tell your DR...its okay to be nervous, even a little scared but, you should feel confident of WHAT they are doing & WHY....they should be willing to spend the time with you, to answer your questions...Good Luck hopefully everything goes smoothly with a speedy recovery, Praying for you if that's okay? BEST WISHES💒🎶🌈🍀☮♾🐾
