Prolapse...Abdominal pain

Hello I have a rectocele and I'm awaiting physio as my consultant wont believe that I have a prolapse despite my tests showing I do, he thinks I'm too young so is putting off surgery. Stupid yes I know! The problem right now is I've been struggling for the past week with lower abdominal pains, and my prolapse seems to have got worse (it is now coming further down my vagina and I have gone from mildly incontinent to totally incontinent). Over this week I have lost my appetite completely and I'm wondering if everything is to do with the prolapse getting worse?

I know everyone will probably say go to the drs but I have so much going on at the moment health wise I am finding it hard to go about this as I feel like I'm constantly there annoying them. I just want to know if pain is something you can experience with prolapse or if it's something to be worried about. Xx

Well..... I would go back and insist on a referral to a urogynecogist they will definitely be able to diagnose a prolapse as they are the specialists. Question have you had any children? They say it isn't painful but a lot of ladies beg to differ

Are you in the U.K? If you are go back to your GP and ask for a second opinion, you are entitled to that and he can't refuse. Ask to see a urogynaecologist. Physio is not going to help your prolapse now it will only help strengthen the pelvic muscles, although that's a good thing in preparation for surgery. You also need a physiotherapist who is specially trained in pelvic floor and urogynaecology.

Yes you can definitely have pelvic pain and aches with prolapse.   I had it on and off for 3 years.   It use to make me feel very low.    since having my op (4 and half months ago) I haven't had that pain at all.....and it is so nice!

Not everyone has pain but mine was quite bad.

Just to add, it's difficult to say whether this pain is due to your prolapse and it shouldn't make you lose your appetite. Lower abdominal pain can be a number of things and shouldn't be ignored. You don't say how old you are but to be honest you need to see your GP because this could well be something other than prolapse related.
