Prologned Period/Bloody Urine- Need Help

Hi!

So grateful for this site. Last week I started an early period. It was quite heavy and flooding. The flooding lasted about two days and then my period became lighter. The only time I seem to start bleeding is when I use the bathroom. The blood is being pushed out when I pee, if that makes any sense. I think I am on day 10 of this period.

I do have a backache. I am getting a lot of night sweats and hot flashes.

My clinic is closed due to Covid. We are having a severe outbreak here so going to the doctor is almost impossible right now. They are closing offices and wings to make room for Covid patients. With Thanksgiving Covid surge I don't feel comfortable going to the doctor's at this moment.

Have any of you experienced bleeding while you use the bathroom? I read this is quite common in peri but it is still freaking me out.

I am 49 and have been in peri several years. I have bled like this before but not this weird, if that makes sense. I also have Peri Fog Brain. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thank you for any help.

You and I are twinning!! I was just going to write about prolonged period. I started to spot for a few days around the 4th of Nov say 3 days or so of light pink bleeding. Thought hey this was my period this month its light. i skipped a period in Sept bled for about 17 days in Oct we are now in Nov after the spotting i stopped for about 7 days or so On the 17th of November i started to bleed again only like a normal period but only when using the bathroom do i seem to flow. I am still bleeding so day 13 for me i have a doc apt but like you cant be seen until Dec 28th. I am not flooding and changing pad about every 3 hours with lower back pain and hot flashs . Im concerned about anemia because of the prolonged bleeding. So we are very similiar. How is your flow? This is crazy

Oh my gosh that was such a fast answer! Thank you so much. I don't feel so alone. When we went into Covid lockdown I didn't have a period for almost two months. Then I had three periods that were 28 days like clockwork. That freaked me out because I haven't been regular since I was 44 and I am 49 now. I thought I was reverting, lol. After those regular periods I skipped almost two months again. This period started on day 21. It was very heavy for two days, like murder scene heavy. I almost passed out from blood loss.

I have anemia issues since I was a child so I am on iron. That was a saving grace.

Now my flow is light. I change pads maybe twice a day. No flooding. It only seems to come out when I use the bathroom and then it flows for a bit and stops like maybe two-five hours light flow. It is a lot of pink/red blood. It seems like going to the bathroom causes it.

I don't really get hot flashes either. I get hot flushes. Since all this happened my hot flashes are coming at a regular pace several times a day. The hot flashes are debilitating. I preferred the hot flushes and that is saying a lot. I hardly got night sweats either and now they are extreme.

I have been having the longer heavy periods. And then blood just when I wipe after peeing for several days after. I'm having what may be hot flashes, no sweating, just hot face, chest, shoulders and down just the back of my arms. I've had some irregularities in periods for about 6-8 months now. The brain fog is definitely an issue for me. Lack of focus. But I think the prolonged bleeding that happens when you pee is "normal" for this stage

Thank you so much for the replies. I am so grateful. I feel a bit more relieved. I have just started feeling like I need to urinate all the time now and have bladder pain. I am suspecting a UTI on top of this. I am not surprised. I think these long periods trigger UTI's. My bleeding is much lighter today. I am hoping it will just stop. These prolonged periods are the worst!
