Prolonged Gout Pain

Hi all let me give you a brief history...I passed a kidney stone in my late twenties and have suffered approx. 10 gout attacks since then and im now 42. I drink rarely and eat a relatively balanced diet.
In the past my gout has been managed with Diclofenac and lasted only a few days.
However I have suffered an attack/foot pain of varying levels for the past SIX WEEKS!
I have taken a variety of NSAIDs but found Diclofenac were the most effective at the height of the acute attack some three weeks ago however....I am still extremely tender on the edge of my foot and the pain progressively worsens as the day goes on. I have been given Allopurinol but cant commence with them until pain free...but what is this remaining pain? Its clearly not an acute attack but still very painful. Im staying hydrated and cant put my finger on any food triggers, im now at the point of trying to get a referral to a consultatnt as im sick of GP's asking me if ive been on a stag weekend or drink too much!!! If anyone has suffered similar prolonged pain id appreciate any advice!
Thanks

So hard to figure out the trigger. I can eat red meat drink wine and beer and not have an attack for months, then out of the blue I find one comes on. I manage using Diclofenac and Colchicine; but find Diclofenac soduim the most effective. I read an article that mentioned fructose and dehydration as the leading cause and since I've cut back on the fruit and juice instead I find that my attacks are less frequent. Last summer I had a prolonged attack that just wouldn't go away regardless of what I did. Obviously a few extra LB's but I cannot fast or cut calories because that brings on an attack. I really try and stay hydrated. Not had an attack in about 9 months at least one I could treat.

I 1have read that baking soda is good for gout; good for flushing out uric acid. And so I have tried it dissolving almost 1 teaspoon of baking soda into 1 glass of water. I dribk this after meals 3 times a day. Even if i eat a serving of moderate purine foods such as beef or any other meat for 3 times a week, the baking soda water works. I don't experience pain nor inflammation. Baking soda helped me a lot.
