I am proffessional 39 year woman who has for the first time been signed off work and been prescribed propranolol for anxiety. 10mg to take as and when I need to. I was prescibed this on friday last week. I have yet to pluck up the courage to take these tablets as Im worried they will make me feel strange and so trigger another anxiety attack. I am constantly feeling sick and cannot function with normal everyday tasks anymore.I have read so many positive things about these tablets...why cant I just take one??? please help. advice.

Hi Alison, I had 40mg without food as I never eat in the morning.Any nausea you feel is definitely your worries not the pills! I suggest a stronger dose for you.(I took an online test and a brief face-to-face interview.Relaxed yet able to concentrate and had a successful first meeting thanks to propanol).Cheers, William.

Hey joannebecca4. I really don't know about the dosage. 40mg seems a lot to me but I'm not you or your doctor. I take 10mg three times a day. I tried to take 20mg but I found it too much. My head was buzzing and I was I was heavy . It's hard to describe. 10mg is better for me. It's not perfect but I find it better than 20mg. I will say this though, it took over a week to get used to taking them and I'm still not right yet although I'm much much better than I was. How are you finding 40mg three times a day? Are they helping? Do you feel calmer?
