Propranolol side effects?

hello!

ive been having heart issues for a while that include palpitations, chest pain and tachycardia. my ECGs have always been normal so the doctor has put me on 3x propranolol a day to see if that stops the episodes.

About half an hour after taking the medication my heart goes crazy and goes up to about 160bpm for around 10/15 mins and then settles back down. its then usually okay until i take another dose.

does this sound like a bad side effect or something more sinister? i dont want my body to be reacting badly to the meds or it to be triggering something i dont know about
