Yes, I have had this problem. I suspect it is caused by a median lobe. I also had an issue where if I had to hold my urine a long time, I could barely go. I had my median lobe removed and that mostly resolved the issue at night and after holding urine, but now my flow has reduced again so I am heading back for a more complete resection using aquablation.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your condition. I'm not sure what you mean by "come up with a plan." If you have access to a urologist, you should go see one and figure out what is going on and what can be done.

I had the problem you describe, although it did not happen to me every night, thank goodness. The first couple of times it happened I was pacing around the house and was a couple of minutes from heading to the emergency room. It was scary.

Eventually, I went to a urologist and found out that I had BPH. After trying medication for 1-2 years, I had mostly successful Aquablation surgery in August 2022.

If you have BPH, your doctor will talk to you about your options, including the various kinds of medication and surgeries. Just make sure you look into the risks of each option. I did not find that my doctor's office was particularly good at this. Good luck.

Have similar, though not identical problem. I had the PAE procedure several years ago, and it helped a modest amount. I now take daily Cialis (tadalafil) which also helps some. I agree with Michael's advice.
