It sounds like you have definitely had a UTI. A UTI will cause your PSA to read high. I don't understand why they are giving you ultrasound for a UTI. Are they trying to measure the size of your prostate, by rectal ultrasound? Are they trying to measure post void residual urine in your bladder by abdominal ultrasound?

If the infection is in your bladder they should test your urine for bacteria and determine which antibiotic to use. If the infection is in your prostate, like it sounds like, they should test your semen for bacteria and determine which antibiotic to use.

You should be seeing a Urologist, not a general practitioner.

yeah i saw a Urologist and he did a ultra sound on my prostate and bladder test says they look good but my PSA so he is sending me off to

get another MRI without looking at other options i believe its about money at this point because the only things that he has done was the ultra sound even after i told he all my symptoms

they did not do a rectal ultra sound i just feel like they are not trying to figure out the source of the problem

Yes bro. You are right there. They are not trying to find the source of the problem. They have done it with me as well. Cheap option first. Saving money for NHS. I know how to help you and what you have to do. U r running out of time mate . My health have deteriorated because of my GP wrong approach. I will paste here my post from few days ago so you can read it. Let me know if you need additional advice what to do next and who can help you (not average urologist- trust me there are good and bad urologist like in other professions)

hi everyone. U can catch bacteria other then typical sexually transmitted through oral sex. The reason why it is not picked up by your GP is because they are doing the wrong test. NHS guidance is also rubbish because is instructing GP to do cheap test first (dip stick test) . It is not accurate enough and only picks up serious UTI . They are looking for UTI symptoms but those are not there yet. Despite the fact that you are having small amounts of bacteria. I'm taking NHS to court over it. GP will not do urine culture test if dip stick test shows nothing. And this is massive mistake. I can bet a house with you that you suffer with chronic bacterial prostatitis. Most likely Enterococcus faecalis or E.coli. The second one is easier to treat. First one much harder. You may have both. Enterococcus over the time destroys kidneys. E.coli may cause sepsis. Do not listen to your GP. They literally know nothing. They will prescribe you cream for rush if you lucky and leave you to die. If you insist for more throughout tests and referral to urologist , GP will mark you in your medical file as a anxiety guy. That will shut down all the doors for ya. Disgraceful but true. First request your medical records. I guarantee you that your urine culture test (if they done one for you ) will state ,, no significant growth ". But your useless GP would tell you that it is all normal/no action needed. Not true. That is only the case if your report states ,, no growth ". No significant growth means that there is a growth (bacteria) but only small quantity which at present doesn't cause UTI (but will do eventually in the future). Your GP should act on it , especially that you have a symptoms. But he will not do anything because he strictly follows NHS guidance without using his brain and is not linking symptoms together to build a bigger picture. That small growth of bacteria will within time multiple and move to your prostate causing acute prostatitis. Then we have up to 3 months to cure it (99% success rate) after that it becomes chronic (about 70% chance to cure it) . Acute prostatitis usually needs 4 weeks of treatment by IV (drip). You may get additional 2 weeks after that with oral medication. Ciprofloxacin is dangerous. It done more damage to my health then the bacteria itself. The longer you are taking it the worst side effects. Some permanent. To have 100% certainty you must do semen culture test followed by Stamey test. In UK its very hard to find urologist who will do it for ya. Good luck all and I hope it will help at least one person by taking right steps before it is too late.

Mate a I wish you all the best but U are not listening to what I'm advising you. No matter how many different GPs you will visit, they will not be able to help you. They do not have a knowledge required. U need a very good urologist consultant

Well I have written down somewhere a phone number and a name of one Urologist based in UK (Bristol I believe). Not sure if he is good though but he agreed to repeat for me the Stamey's test( second opinion) . I need it to take my GP to court. I pretty sure that his secretary mentioned the price of 800 quid for that test. which is quite expensive but can you put a price on your health? First Stamey's test I have done abroad in January this year. I only paid 300 quid for a test plus travel cost and cheap hotel. Other tests (urine/ swab/semen/ full STI/fungal screening/ ) were around additional 400 quid. Now I'm sure about the diagnosis and what are my best chances to cure it. Flying tomorrow afternoon for 20 day treatment (antibiotics through a drip). Nobody in UK offered me such a complete and thorough diagnosis/ tests. One bacteria is found. But my chances are only 80% because it is in my body for over a year now. So it could be unsuccessful. Tomorrow I will look at my documents and let you know the phone number and name of that UK based Urologist. If you can afford and are willing to go abroad -Poland(I recommend it. He is the best guy for a job. He studied at Dublin University and Harvard. Speak good English) then let me know please and I will pass you those contact details as well. It is up to you. I'm my case he said that it is pointless to swallow more tablets (antibiotics) because so far it didn't work. So now we do something more extreme. I have nothing to lose. My life is a nightmare anyway.

      Speak to ya tomorrow
