    Good Afternoon Bill

Sorry that your having a problem. But it's one of our problems men have to deal with. There are all different kind of symptom. Men can have the same but there are some that all men don't get. It is normal for the tip of the penis to sting. It is the urethra that is doing that.

I have a symptom that I have never heard a man say he is going through. Sometimes when I get a prostatitis attack by whole penis goes numb. It is a very weird feeling. It feels like it goes to sleep. I have ask my urologist he told me that he has heard of it and can happen because it can effect all the nerves in the groin area.

    Have a good day.....Ken

      HI Bill

prostatitis really is different for everyone , ,for me that particular symptom didnt last long and felt like a sharp stinging at top of penis . Nick is correct its deferred pain . When i had a severe bout 3 years ago i was convinced i had prostate cancer that jad spread as i had intense pain all over the pelvis . Biopsy confirmed chronic prostatitis and its come and gone with varying degrees and symptoms a couple of times since .

The condition is poorly understood bu the medical profession

I get that on occasion. What is worse, when I get a little constipated and have a bowel movement, it feels like my prostate is ripping open. That really sucks

I'd recommend to all men the book "Like a Headache in the Pelvis". I bought a used copy on Amazon after it was recommended in one of these threads on prostate/pelvic pain and prostatitis (which I have experienced for years.) .

The book touches, among other things, on what the authors -- an M.D. and a PhD -- sense is a most important aspect and possible/probable origin of a lot of this pain and discomfort. Hint:

most docs & uros are perhaps embarrassed to bring it up. Solution: moderating the frequency of the ultimate prostate and pelvic muscle workout. Yup. The "O" word.

Seriously, I think the doc(s) who wrote this are on to something. p. 244. I have taken it to heart and am now reading the rest of the book. We're all in this together.

    Hi Bill,

I had a turp operation over 7 weeks ago, and yes I had a sharp pain after I pee. Spoke specialist he said its normal. But I must admit for how long? I pee every two to three hours, I wonder is that normal?

Michael. Not going to say to much. But after any procedure that is normal and it does next time to heal. Turp sometime for some men take a long time. That all

Have a good day and good luck.....Ken

Yes Bill, I get that too! I find bending over most uncomfortable when I get that pain. It's usually worse after urinating. Like others have said, it comes and goes but I've had that pain for weeks in the past. It's deferred pain from the prostate, according to my uro - which makes sense.
