Prostatitis

Hello. I've been diagnosed with chronic prostatitis, this happened about 5 months ago. Been on several different meds but nothing seems to want to go away permanently.
What's the longest someone has suffered from this non-stop? I'll have some days where things are fine and then some where it's unbearable. It doesn't matter what I do or don't do.
Thanks.

I had the same problem.... hot baths were the key to my recovery. . The very first time I took a hot bath and soaked, the 'itis' feeling stopped and lasted the rest of the day. So because of this, the first week I took 2 hot baths a day. I have been haveing baths daily now for 3 1/2 weeks, all good. BTW, I had chronic non-bacterial prostatitis for 5 months. It ebbed and flowed, meaning it got a little better, then it would get bad again. The first week I took 2 hot baths a day.... and for me the instant relief was like a miracle. Cheers

PS- look up 'pelvic floor syndrome' as this is synonymous with chronic non-bacterial prostatitis... Cheers

Sadly enough, some men can have this condition indefinitely, though it's rare. Keep coming back to this board, and you'll gain the savvy to figure out some things that work for you. Many men take NSAIDS though they, too, have the potential to creat their own set of problems. Personally speaking, consistent exercise mitigates it considerably for me. I've also heard bad (and good) things about soy. Same can be said of excessive dairy and coffee.
