Prostatitis- Pelvic PT?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've battled prostatitis now for 10yrs (it started when i was 26).   THis is now starting to consume my life.   My muscles ache around my butt and legs and penis and anus burn all the time.    Not to mention that my prostate seems to get congested.

Anyone have luck using pelvic floor PT?    Antibiotics never seemed to help me.    I really need some pointers because this is terrible and Im starting to get to my wits end

    Hello MotoGP,

Sorry to hear about your difficulties.  I'm afraid I don't have any  unique or insightful answers regarding the management of your prostatitis.  I am on the this site occasionally because I have had a run in with prostate cancer.

    .

I'm responding to your post however simply because I like your site name :  MotoGP 1000 and assume that you are a big fan of this motorsport,  as am I.

My bike is a KTM RC8 and I live in South Australia. If you ever wanted to talk riding/bikes/MotoGP occasionally,  I'd be pleased to correspond with you. I don't want to presume anything but there is apparently a way that one can,  if the person is willing,  confidentially obtain a persons private email address,  and can correspond with them outside of this site.    In general terms, is that something that you would be interested in?

    Regards

    Dudley

    Hi Moto,

I suffered from prostatitis and took what my uro prescribed: antibiotics. They helped for a while but I kept getting recurrences. As you can attest, antibiotics do work (for a while) but are not a long-term solution; in fact, antibiotics can be detrimental to your health.

After a while and disappointed with what my doctors were prescribing, I decided to do research and tackle the problem naturally. It was trial and error (got frustrated many times) until I found what worked for me.

You have been battling prostatitis for 10 years and conventional medicine and antibiotics did not work. Perhaps, you need to pay attention to what your body is telling you and try to find what works for you. We are all different and there is no such a thing as one-size-fits-all solution.  I think natural plants, herbs, juices, and supplements can help (they did for me but YMMV) but they do take a while to work, so be patient.

Email me and I tell you what worked for me. I do not sell juices, supplements, plants, or herbs but there are many online suppliers where you can buy what you need.

      Hi JAmes

I am curious to know what the symptoms and associated feelings are,

ie "where does it hurt"? of Prosatitis?

I have BPH and have had a PAE proecedure done in February with some success however I still get sometimes a really bad ache in my groin area, testes, hips and lower back. MAybe this is referred pain. Often comes and goes for no apparent reason, Get it sometimes if i hold on to my pee for w hile or often after passing a large stool!

I do have a lower back problem but not sure if this is related.

      Hi Jeremy,

The symptoms you describe appear to be classical symptoms of prostatitis. Prostatitis is a tricky condition. It could be caused by a bacterial infection or the prostate could be inflamed with no sign of infection. In fact, only 5% to 10% of cases are caused by bacterial infections.

The prostatitis symptoms depend on the severity. In general, the symptoms are frequent urge to urinate, difficulty urinating, pain or burning sensation during urination, chills, and/or fever. Other symptoms may include pain that comes and goes low in the abdomen, in the groin area, around the anus, and/or in the lower back. In some cases, the prostate may swell causing a less forceful urine stream (usually due to bph), blood in the urine, and painful ejaculations.

Unfortunately, some doctors today are still using the old "golden standard treatment" which was to treat all prostatitis conditions with antibiotics. Antibiotics may be OK for short-term use but long-term use could be detrimental to your health.

If you want to stay healthy, you need to be your own health advocate.

      Hope you feel better soon.

    Dear Moto,

I know exactly how you feel. Mine started 6 1/2  years ago. I was so scared and the feeling of a " golf ball " went to the urologist had bladder stones coming down, 6 kidney stones and my bladder was half full of urine. He did a TURP and that didn't even work. Exept that I'm peeing normally now. Mine is going around my butt and into my legs, too now. This is consuming my life, also now. and I have the same feelings in my Prostate that you do. I want my life back. Do Not stay on antibiotics, they will hurt you. My Dr. is now sending me for Physical Therapy and I will see if this helps me. I have kidney stones again, but he doesn't think this is bothering MY problem. I will try this for 2 months, if it doesn't help, we are going to take the stones out through my back and see if this helps relieve this AWFUL problem. I am NOT giving up. I will then try anything it may take. If prostate massage may help, I will try that. I am even open for direct injections of antibiotics in the pelvis to cure this awful disease !!! As a last resort, I wil agree to have my prostate taken out if this means that I could have a normal life again and do the things that I LOVE to do in my life once again, including enjoying my grandchildren.

Please send a message back to me, I CARE !! !

Steven. Sounds like you've done some rounds with this thing. If I can offer any advice, please try magnesium and prosta q supplements if you haven't already.

I've heard that PT works but it takes a while.

My only other hitter I'd stretching and foam rolling. I found that pelvic muscles, mainly the piriformis can be big culprits.I also feel pretty good after a run. Maybe these rings might help

Either way we need more light shed on this issue. There needs to be a face to this type of thing so it's taken more seriously. We shouldn't have to suffer in silence

I'm in such pain tonight that I couldn't even visit with my kids and grandkids. I'm sick of this. We DO suffer in silence; nobody knows OR cares. I'm trying everything my friend; hope we both find an answer someday. Have had thoughts that I want it to end as of late. Would be nice to find peace. Keep hanging in there my friend.
