Prostatitis Story - and HOPE

i realized that it would be good to share a positive story of prostatitis i had my first episode 7 years ago no question that it was caused by an unprotected sexual encounter over the years i have had 4 recurrences , lasting anywhere from 2 months to 6 months at the beginning had positive culture for ecoli, susceptible to all abx, but nothing worked at all took enough abx to down an elephant resolved eventually on its own, i had stopped taking abx after months of no progress one of the relapses i had (after oral sex encounter), my research indicated that human mouth harbors lots of anaerobic bacteria had my uro prescribe best abx for this type of bacteria (all tests showed no bacteria)i had immediate relieve from avelox, clindamycin, metronidazole, etc took for many months and then stopped all other relapses no abx worked at all - and believe me, i have tried dozens (not really any more to try) last relapse i had was 18 months ago all relapses have eventually resolved on their own

i dont really worry about the next relapse, as my experience has been that they are self limiting - but certainly a major PITA! Find an understanding and compassionate uro who is open minded and willing to try different things it is not a death sentence, even though in the dark days, it can seem like it
