Protonix

My primary care doctor switched me from 20 mg of omeprazole to 40 mg of protonix. I feel the omeprazole is not working as well as it use to. Any one have any luck with protonix?

I recently had a barium swallow but my GI doctor isn't available for a follow up until January 13. The radiologist saw a hiatal hernia and pretty bad reflex. Just hoping a new med may help.

HI Ip, any time I see posting with PPI meds in it I have to speak up because those meds are poison. If you can read up of those meds and you will see why I call them poison. I was on them for 13 years and none of my Dr's figured out why I was getting reflux. It wasn't until I went to a specialist and he was able to figure out what was wrong and fix the issue and I am glad to say I have been off those meds for 3 years and I have never felt better. I no longer have to watch what I eat or remember to take those meds every day. I am not sure where you are located but if you can look into a procedure called linx. Think of the PPI meds as band aids because that is exactly what they are. They aren't fixing the issue, its just a band aid to cover up the real reason you are having the issue. I see you have a hiatal hernia and getting that fixed could take care of all your problems but then again it might not. But please do yourself a favor and try getting off those meds. So many problems start to arise after being on them for so long.
