My primary care doctor switched me from 20 mg of omeprazole to 40 mg of protonix. I feel the omeprazole is not working as well as it use to. Any one have any luck with protonix?
I recently had a barium swallow but my GI doctor isn't available for a follow up until January 13. The radiologist saw a hiatal hernia and pretty bad reflex. Just hoping a new med may help.

I have a hiatus hernia and esomeprazole works best for me. I still get symptoms though from time to time, particularly at certain times of the month. I also take gavisc0n double action when it gets bad and I have to watch what I eat and drink. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, fatty/oily foods, sweet foods and acidic foods and drinks.
