Protruding disc is enough to cause pain. Have you asked for the radiologist  report that showed results from MRI. Sometimes physical therapy can help with strengthening core muscle tone and back. Muscle & tendons are what

    what hold our skeletons up.

Ask for another appt for evaluation of MRI & treatment in your case take a copy of MRI WITH YOU and see a spine specialist for 2nd opinion.

palps are a different a story stress can cause them , however I do not know your health history your doc would be the best source to help you. Plz see your doc soon!

Soory to hear you were in a car accident. It is something that can effect us for a long time sometimes a lifetime. Really do find out what all your treatment alternatives are from professionals. Discs can be painful and there are many ways to treat them.

i was hit by a drunk driver years ago it has effected me with life long physical problems.

Meant to mention theorist ic disc protrusion is painful .

I know that on an MRI scan, the amount of disc herniation (L5 in my case) is measured in increments of millimeters (mm). Are there studies, opinions or facts that indicate which level (# of mm) of disc herniation warrants which treatment?

ask your our doc for treatment to get discs in better condition.

    Joanna08685,

So sorry for your situation but if they can't manipulate the disc back then the other option would be surgery unfortunately, and yes I get full blown panic attacks when it comes to pain or surgeries, I get to be a nervous wreck, just keep up on it and ask the dr what is the next thing lined up for this. Keep your chin up and smile I feel that smiling makes me feel a little better a d not so down and in the dumps.

    Keep us posted

    Take care

    Good luck
