Hi everyone been taking prozac for the last 8 weeks and have only noticed improvement in my sleep. Ocd is worse than when I started taking it and feelings of guilt have gone through the roof. Any one experienced this?

I'm not on Prozac socks but I know when I was on chital opera this time round..every symptom im started with was magnified by about 100. I stayed on it 8 weeks and could join longer bare it.

Im 7 weeks into mirtazapine and I'm much like you. Sleeping better. Maybe a few days where I'm coping better but no "wow,I'm winning this war moments" yet.

I increased the dose 2 week ago to 45mg and doc said that with each increase you have to give it 4-8 weeks to feel the effects. Not sure how true this is but if you have increased a few times since starting Prozac, this could explain why you haven't felt what you expected just yet xx

I haven't increased dose yet I'm to scared. Doctor said i can' take it every other night and see if I feel bit better. I hate all of them really only one that cut my anxiety was fluvoxamine but that stopped working after a while. might stick with it for two more weeks and see if I improve.

      Thank you

I hate them all too Hun lol

Is there not a possibility that you could stay on the Prozac and add a small amount of the fluvoxamine? It may of stopped working but it did at one time work so it may compliment the Prozac?

My doc has told me to give my mitral aping another two weeks and if there are not any major changes that I'm happy with, then he will add a little if something else rather than me have to start all over on another medication. I  certainly think you have given it enough time to see very little improvement. Maybe the dose is too activating for you and you would benefit from your doctors suggestion or then again,it may not be enough for you and you may need a increase xx

Think I'm going to try the every other night  trick and see how it goes. If I get worse guess I know they are doing somethinthing and maybe my ocd has taken a turn for the worst at the moment. If you can stick your ones out for the ten weeks think that is a good thing to do. At least you will know if they are going to help or not. It's a long road finding an antidepressant that works. Have you tried fluvoxamine its very good?

My personal experience of Prazac is that is was the worse drug I ever took.  But other people are OK on it.  It made me very ill.

Soon after I started taking it, it upset my tummy.  Then I got terrible agitation and anxiety.  I could not sit still and ran around crying all the time.  I had to stop after a few days.

I know with a lot of drugs we feel worse before we feel better, and that may be the answer in your case.  I would have thought after 8 weeks you would be feeling the benefit.  However not all drugs suit us.  Like me, some suited me, some I had side effects, and others well!!!

Do you think you will carry on?  Have you seen a doctor and discussed what you have told us?  I think you ought to.

I'm beginning to think that to . .its horrible. Doctor said to start cutting down and think about chaining mediation. The road to finding an antidepressant that works is a long one and pretty distressing in my opinion. Oh how I wish there was a magic pill . . Thank you
