Hi, im taking Prozac for intrusive thoughts, anxiety, depression and it has been one hell of a ride. Since taking Prozac anxiety is really high and some new intrusive thoughts commin in, i know it supposed to be worse before it gets better...im loosing hope..
i have read side effects start to decrease on week 3

i know its scary and unsettling g and it feels like it wont get better but trust me it gets better i was home for 3 weeks until it started to get better it just takes time you've got this

Yes that’s right, SSRI meds heighten anxiety at first so it does get worse before it gets better. Its different for everybody so don’t think the side effets decrease by week 3 - they might do, they might not. Just hang on in there and keep going.
Intrusive thoughts are a side effect of anxiety, so because anxiety has been heightened due to the meds, then so too will the intrusive thoughts. This is all temporary, and whatever thoughts you have at the moment, however distressing or scary they might seem, they will ease off in time.
During recovery the anxiety will come and go - some days you’ll feel great and think you’ve got over it, and the next day it’ll be back. This is perfectly normal and doesn’t mean you’re ill again or the meds aren’t working. They are. This is just how it all seems to work. It doesn’t matter what dose you’re on and neither will increasing the dose either - you’ll still get this. Increasing meds won’t make you recover any quicker either, you can't hurry it - each dose suits different people. What suits one person, won’t suit the next.
Count recovery in months not weeks. It gets easier as time goes by.
All I can say head down, keep going and things will improve over time.
There’s lots of people on here going through the same or have recovered and I'm sure will share their experiences too.

please don't lose hope. we gotta maintain hope. it willlll get better. I'm on week 13 having upped from 20 to 40 after week 8. yup I know the intrusive thoughts are awful. I would drag myself out of bed and get busy with something and it definitely helped. patience patience and more patience. you will get there
