Prozac: Made it through but still left with extreme tiredness - anyone else.

It took 6 months, but I finally made it back from the depression and it's physical symptoms. I was was put on 20mg of Prozac and stayed on that dose, and yes, it was hell, but i hung in there and, like everyone on this forum said, it's a slow, painful process but you will get there. The only two remnants I am left with are a weight gain of about 15 pounds, and this extreme morning tiredness. It's not the fatigue type tiredness I felt with depression, but it's just a wanting to sleep more in the morning and when I get up, I don't have the push that I used to have. Anybody expereincing this after making it through the tough times?

I had weight loss... and even though my appetite is back I am still sitting steady on the weight loss which is OK with me as I need it. Obviously my last medication was not helping with my food intake issues!
As for the tiredness I actually always feel tired about a hour after having my tablets but then come good a few hours later. I started taking Vitamin B tablets to try and give me a bit of a boost as well.

Thanks for responding! I initally had weight loss too, but once the medicine came back so did my appetite, almost like my appetite was going crazy. My doc just put me on b vitamins, so hopefully that will help. I'm not complaining because I have survived the hell, just want to be energetic like I was before this hit last September. It's a journey for sure.

I Can't speak to upping your dose as I never did. All I know is that once I thought I was over, I had another reoccurrence, albeit not as bad as the first time. I'm just staying the course with the same dose. I have heard arguements for both side, increasing and not increasing. I would follow what your doc thinks. You will be back and better. Hang in there!
