PRP / O-Shot: Any success?

Hi all, I was diagnosed with LS in November last year.
I've been doing a lot of reading about PRP recently and to me it seems like one of only a few treatments that offers some degree of resolution for those who feel Clobetasol doesn't work.
I was just wondering how many of you on here have tried it? If so, what was your experience long-term? How good was it at improving symptoms? Did it halt and/or heal any atrophy?
I'm 37, I'm based in the UK. So far I'm aware of two doctors who offer PRP here. Treatment is expensive, so it'd be useful to know how many people have had relief from it and if it's worth the expense.
For those who haven't tried it - what prevents you from trying?
I've been using Clob for the past three months, with minimal effect and increasing atrophy. I've tried a variety of oils (not coconut or olive oil yet) and creams for moisturising the skin, but so far everything causes more irritation including emu oil, which is a disappointment as so many people recommend it.
I feel like PRP is the next step for me.
Thanks for any feedback and info you can share about your PRP experience! It's much appreciated!

Hi also originally from the UK and diagnosed there April this year.
For me and after reading lots of posts . It seems that LS also is very individual on how it behaves to certain creams and moisturisers again keeping us all on our toes sadly.
I have recently moved to Spain and although having a few stressful things in my life to deal with i am finding that less baths and diet has helped.
Recently after feeling nearly normal for a week had a huge flare up but i put that down to stress and i have had an ear infection .
I am also aware that as hardly any Doctor knows what to do or how to treat i want to manage things myself before going any further .
Just my way 🤗

Hi Susan,
Thanks for your reply. I agree, LS seems very individual. Some treatments work miracles for some and not at all for others.
What dietary changes did you make that helped?
I'm sorry to hear about your ear infection - all better now I hope?

Thank you Kalila thank you for your lovely reply.
I do not eat wheat and have cut out bread and dairy only have lactose free milk for my tea.
I have not managed to kick the caffeine yet 🤦🏻???
Also i do not drink and have nearly cut out sugar 😵
If nothing else it is helping the figure 🤗
I have now developed a cold but I have put this down to huge change in my environment and diet think my system is in shock 😉

I have also been looking into the o shot or monalisa treatment but have only found one in London so far who does the monalisa treatment. I will keep you updated if I find anything else out.

Hi Amanda,
I've heard good things about the Mona Lisa treatment as well. Somehow I'm more drawn to PRP at this stage. I know of one guy who does PRP and Mona Lisa and he's based in London. There's also another doctor in the UK, based in Kent, who does PRP. I've got my next check-up with the vulva clinic soon and I'm going to ask about these treatments to see what my doctor thinks.
Please keep me updated if you decide to go for it!
Many thanks,
K

I would be interested to hear what you find out as well. I am up for trying either treatment. They appear to have multiply benefits. Who are doctors you have details about that offer both treatments? I would be interested to contact them to get further information.
Many thanks

Hi Amanda,
If you go onto the Association for Lichen Sclerosus and Vulval Health website, you'll see links to two doctors in the UK that offer PRP. I have a feeling if I post links and names, they might be removed. Apparently it's "unethical" to name doctors online, not sure why.
Whoever I choose, I research them as thoroughly as I can, including checking whether they are licensed to practice medicine in the UK, you can do this on the General Medical Council website.
Hope that helps.
