    Gil,

PSA is not a number you can take in isolation. It can increase due to a number of factors other than cancer. Inflammation, recent sexual activity, infection, even bicycle riding. In addition, large prostates make more PSA than normal-sized ones. So if you have a large prostate, and/or an inflamed or infected prostate, your 4.3 number might not be a big deal. You need more information. I would recommend finding a good urologist and getting a molecular test such as 4K, Select MDX, PCA3, EXODX, etc. Then maybe a prostate ultrasound if warranted. If still suspicious after that, possibly a 3T MRI. Only after that would I get a biopsy, and only if needed. Maybe more information than you wanted. Good luck.
