Psoas tendon release

I had a THR in November 2017 and have had persistent groin pain since then. Despite many scans and investigations it took the production of a 3D print of my hip to confirm the psoas as being the problem. The procedure is psoas tendon release by keyhole surgery and I was wondering if anyone else has had this procedure and what the outcome was. I had the pre op assessment two weeks ago on the same day as the three month postponement was announced .
Look forward to your comments. Take care during these difficult times.

Hi. Can you explain what your pain is like with this condition? I wonder if this is something I have? I also had a THR on my right side a couple years ago but still have pain/pulling sensation when I move a certain way or even when I'm walking. Having my left side done in June.

Hi, The majority of pain I experience is in my groin and front/inner thigh. This occurs when walking upstairs, raising (or trying to) my leg while straight. In the past I have had considerable pain getting in and out of the car but thankfully this has eased recently. These symptoms appear to be related to psoas pain. Like you I have a pulling sensation usually in my groin. My left side seems to be deteriorating but need the right side sorting first. Hope the left side is successful.

hi everyone, I had my left hip done in 2017 and since then it has never been right , I to have symptoms of lifting my leg straight from a sat down position, walking up stairs and getting into my car, I had a ct scan in January of this year but because of the covid 19 virus I don't think I'm going to find my results until maybe later this year, if it it is psoas then what would be involved to correct it.
open to any help and advice that can be given.

Hi, your timescale and symptoms seem to mirror mine exactly. I had a ct scan and from that they produced the 3d print of my hip which showed the psoas being "irritated" by the edge of the cup, only by a very small amount but enough to cause all this pain! The procedure is to release the psoas using keyhole surgery, but, like you, think I'm going to be waiting quite some
