Psoas tendonitis saga

Sorry to bring this up again but I 'm beginning my 6th week post op and still sitting in a lift chair, unable to sit anywhere including the potty, not doing exercises, not doing any real walking, just piddling around the house due to psoas tendonitiis. Staring taking Nsaids three days ago and was able to be up and about more with no psoas pain although had some sciatica and other leg pain. Was very hopeful about having turned a corner until last night when stepping out of the shower(same as always) I felt a sharp pain in my groin which stayed with me for several hours no matter what position I was in. Also very tender to the touch. Got very discouraged again. Took another Nsaid and it did calm down overnight but still not completley gone. Now worried about every movemnet. Can the psoas tendon be so sensitive that the slightest movement can cause it to flair. I know I shouldn't complain especially when I think of someone like Eric who is having such a hard time. Would like some input about others experience or ideas about this. Having a hard time understanding how this can heal if any movement can potentially cause it to flair. Feel like I back to square one.

Have seen the surgeon previously about this and he seemed to think it would get better in time with Nsaids. I do think it shouldn't be this difficult and will hopefully get to see someone this week.
best regards

I am in my eighth week and I still have quite a lot of pain but not in the degree you have yours and it is starting to get better. I went and saw my physio and my consultant about mine in my 5th week where they gave me some good advice. I would ring and get an appointment as you should never be in so much pain where you cannot control it yourself. hope you can get to see someone
kind regards
Katie

I am so sorry to read that you are in so much pain ...
Was psoas tendonitis officially diagnosed ? Just asking because I though I was having the same problem -
Well (not to discourage you or depress you and apologies if I do) .... at 6 week check up with surgeon, the new xray taken showed that other hip's cartilage went from very mild to almost bone-on-bone within 6 months ...
I am having 2nd THR tomorrow, September 10 2015 ... (first was March 16 2015)
Because of left hip going worse, recovery of good right hip was not optimal ...
exercises, walks, more or less ? I don;t know -
listen to your body and be oh so gentle with your self - you are not doing anything wrong ....
I agree with others - contact your GP or surgeon - maybe get an x-ray ...
Big and warm hug
renee
Don't worry about "complaining" here on this forum Okay?

Thank you so much. You are always so kind and helpful. It was diagnosed as psoas tendonitis just from symptoms. Did have an xray but didn't show an impingement or anything out of ordinary. Hoping to have an MRI to see if that shows anything. My unop hip has also deteriorated from moderate to servere. It coudl be making things worse although I am not having much pain in that hip and it doesn't seem any worse than in the past.
Glad you hospital is not flooded!
Will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending up prayers blessings and good thoughts for your easy and successful op. Will look forward to hearing from you after the surgery.
love and big warm hugs back to you

After 4 weeks of resting it, just stepping out of the shower should not give you pulsating pain that lasted for hours. At four weeks you should be almost healed. You have something more going on here. You really do. It is really GOOD that you rested it for 4 weeks now, because that tells your surgeon that just resting it isn't going to work, you did that and you are still not healed up.
Orthopedic surgeons are the ones who treat your tendons, it makes sense becuase your tendons attach to the bones, so they are all connected & that is thier specialty. I feel real bad for you but *I think* you have something more going on than a simple tendonitis. Best of luck to you and please do keep writing.
