Psoriasis !!! Pustular or arhrthritic or both ?

Had Psoriasis on the soles of my feet & hands now for about 10 years & its now on my legs & elbows in the form of ulcery like blisters although the palm of my left hand & soles of my feet are covered in a different thicker crust like blister that cracks & bleeds, i was told that because of the aching joint pain that it was psoritic arthritis. Had all sorts of treatment like light treatment, methotrexate which made me ill & my current treatment which is etanercept weekly injections which do help the pain a little. I am using Dovobet cream & hydromol moisturiser which really is hit & miss, also at the moment i have just started a 2 week course of Flucloxacillin 500mg tablets because my sores/scabs/pustules are infected, i cant even work at the moment because my feet. & left hand is so very sore, feet are moisturised & wrapped in clingfilm which helps, I am very annoyed & frustrated that the specialists at the hospital & my own GP cannot seem to agree on what my condition actually is, i know im never going to be cured 100% but each flare up is getting worse & less responsive to treatment, there has to be something & any feedback &/or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you............Andy, aged 52

Psoriatic arthritis which often develops due to Psoriasis cannot cured a short duration of time. Even the pain also decreases in several weeks and the scales take one month or more time to vanish. So you just have to wait for some time.

Thank you Henry for your reply & its appreciated but i have had this condition now for over 10 years & am aware that it cannot be cured, but after lots & lots of different treatments there has not really been any improvement at all apart from probably slight pain reduction with the etanercept injections which i have administered myself weekly for the last 5 years. My point being that between them, my GP, the joint clinic & dermatology have not really diagnosed me in my point, 100% correctly but trying to get through to them sometimes is both frustrating & annoying, what other steps are there for me to take, Anyone ???????

If you falling sort of money you can go for SSDI. Try there once and consult a good physiotherapist who can diagnose your symptoms better.

Thank you Henry for your advice but what is SSDI ? Could you possibly give me a few more details please, (ie) what the treatment involves, availability, where to get the treatment, those sort of details would be greatly appreciated, thank you Henry.......Andy.

Andy, I'm so sorry you're not doing so well at the moment - especially when the 'specialists' can't even agree on your diagnosis.

I don't know if it might help, but have you tried any non-chemical, natural psoriasis treatments? Sometimes using something gentle can help to ease it a bit. I've been using products from Katharine Botanicals for a little while and they are quite nice. There are quite a few other chemical-free products out there, so maybe they are worth a go?

    Good luck
